I'm not sure if this has been highlighted before, but 'The pod' is an excellent alternative to a mini tripod.

I've used one of these for several months and they are a lot better than the images that might be conjured in your mind. For example the material inside does not move around once pressure is exerted on the outer casing.

A great way to use them is to place the pod on a solid surface (to which it will mould) and then with a free hand squeeze the pod bag to get the angle that you want the camera to be in.

I recently visited Graceland in Memphis and there was 'no flash' photography. I was able to sit the pod on top of railings and various other available supports objects and it worked a treat.

I also use a PD170 semi professional video camcorder and it works just as well with this. In fact my pro tripods can't get as low on the ground as this baby can.

Before anyone asks I do not have shares in the company that makes them. I'm just passing on a tip on a piece of equipment that far outweighed my expectations of it.

I absolutely love the concept behind THE pod. It is absolutely brilliant and the mind simply boggles at how such a simple device can be so incredibly useful to anyone with a camera.

Pedro Lastra is a young professional photographer in Miami. Among other projects he teaches at Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden. I have been fortunate to attend nine of his sessions. One of the extras he considers important is 'The Pod'. He recommends it and he uses it often!
Looking forward to mine!

I saw your product advertised or reviewed in a photo magazine while waiting in a doctor's office. I immediately thought it was a great idea. I'd seen professional photographers who used things like bags of rice while in the field to steady their cameras, but this seemed much more practical.

I saw your product described in National Geographic Adventurer magazine. I have a friend who is going to Europe and she was complaining that she might leave her camera behind because she didn't want to lug around a tripod. I thought your product would be perfect for her!

I read about your wonderful pods in "how to do everything with your digital camera" by Dave Johnson. I read the book before, but missed that part. It is just what I need for my picture taking, Film cameras are too heavy for me, (severe arthritis) thank heavens for digital, I come from a line of those who take great pictures with the best and heaviest (film) cameras, my 'good' photos are just by accident, really. I try but because steadiness is not my thing, even though my camera is a good one, the photographer (I use the term loosely) has to be steady, and from what I've seen and read, The Pod is what I need/want.
